The roots of this publication expanded slowly over the last year or two. Quite a while before diving in and building the custom-coded website in January 2025, options for names, platforms, and strategies for a motocross publication done my way turned over in my mind.
The name "Table Over Two" fell into place not long before I selected a built-from-scratch website and adopted a deeply considered approach to content. Before that, I worked on bringing a Substack solution to life, along with a launch article, on the occasion of the first 2024 SuperMotocross postseason round in Charlotte.
I did write an article at that time, but I don't recall it seeing the light of day.
On the very first day of this year, I got to work pairing Next.js with the attractive content management system Ghost. The aim was to begin weekly articles from the first week of 2025 — a satisfying prospect for this OCD brain.
It, uh, didn't happen that way. Feld apparently saw potential in my new project and granted us media access for the Detroit, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh rounds of Monster Energy Supercross, which was an incredible opportunity. I'm so grateful. But I didn't keep up my end of the deal.
The personal itch I'm trying to scratch with Table Over Two remains. However, there are too many other fires to put out in life right now, and I couldn't devote time to this. It appears to be there already, but I'm putting Table Over Two on the shelf for now.
With this publication so far, I've put in an invisible offseason of training, then dabbed my foot at the second round. I recognize that this body of work isn't yet impressive, but I'm accepting that it's off my plate for now. I can improve it when I can return to it more reasonably.
Table Over Two is banged up, questionable for an SMX return, but only getting started.
